The Development District of Central Texas (DDCT) is the federally designated Economic Development District serving Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills, and San Saba counties. The DDCT Board of Directors is a diverse, regionally representative body composed of leaders from local governments, Economic Development Corporations, Municipal Development Districts, educational institutions, workforce organizations, chambers of commerce, and the private sector.
The Board provides regional leadership and strategic oversight for economic development initiatives across Central Texas. In partnership with staff at the Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG), the Board guides the development and implementation of the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)—the foundational plan used to align local priorities, identify regional opportunities, and compete for federal and state economic development funding.
Through this work, DDCT supports communities by:
- Coordinating regional economic development planning
- Providing technical assistance and grant support to local governments and partners
- Convening regional stakeholders through meetings, workshops, and summits
- Supporting workforce, infrastructure, and business development initiatives
- Advancing data-driven strategies that strengthen long-term regional resilience and competitiveness
Board membership is intentionally structured to ensure broad geographic, sectoral, and community representation across the region, consistent with federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) requirements.
DDCT Board meetings are held quarterly—typically in January, April, July, and October—and are open to the public in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
