DDCT staff is able to assist with grant identification to address needs, applications, and administration for all city and county governments in the DDCT region as well as for economic development entities (EDCs, MDDs, Chambers, ISDs,etc.) . The DDCT is funded through a three year EDA Partnership Planning grant which funds staff and allows them to perform this technical assistance as part of the grant’s scope of work.
Through annual funding from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Community Development Assistance Fund (CEDAF), staff is also able to provide local communities with technical assistance for the TDA’s Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) program.
Technical assistance includes dissemination of information on guidelines, eligibility, projects, and the application process for all TxCDBG programs, hosting events to discuss fair housing in the region, helping develop Unified Scoring Committee scoring criteria for the TxCDBG Community Development Fund, obtaining input from local governments to select regional priorities for the Community Development Fund, and hosting TxCDBG Awardee Kickoffs and Stakeholder Feedback sessions.
Staff is also able to complete and administer applications for non-entitlement communities (population <50,000 for cities, <200,000 for counties) to TxCDBG programs.
Currently the TxCDBG Community Development Fund is open for phase one Community Applications due December 9, 2024.
